Pat Gebben – CTEC Vice President

 
 
 

Bryan Wenthe

 

Bryan Wenthe has worked in the construction industry for 25 years. His early years included loading and unloading trucks in a family lumber business as well as working on specialty contracting crews.

Upon graduation from Eastern Illinois University, his Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Minor in Business Administration has been utilized in the framing component industry. He is currently a Sales and Project Manager with Probuild / Builders First Source, the nation's largest professional contractor building material dealer. Bryan is also a co-founder and partner in a real estate development firm.

He currently serves as the Second Vice Chairman of the Home Builders Association of East Central Illinois and is co-chairman of government affairs. As a State Director of the Home Builders Association of Illinois, he also serves on the Legislative committee.

Bryan is the fourth generation of a family that has supported the Effingham area construction industry through advocacy and volunteerism. After spending several years between traveling between Champaign and Effingham, he now makes Lake Sara his primary residence.

 
 

Marty Stock – CTEC President

 

Marty Stock serves as the President of CTEC. Marty is the owner of Home Builder's Plus in Effingham.

 
 

Bob Schultz – CTEC Treasurer

 

Bob Schultz serves as the Treasurer for CTEC. Bob is the President of the Schultz Investment Company, a private family office. He serves on the board of AKRA Builders, Inc. and Midland States Bank Corp, in addition to other civic organizations in the community.

Bob has a finance degree from the University of Illinois – College of Business and a law degree from the University of Notre Dame. He and his wife Audra are the parents of two children.

 
 

Jerry Tkachuk

 

 Jerry has served as a building administrator at Altamont High School for six years and will begin his fourth year at the high school in the Fall of 2015.

He has served as a principal for the Tri-Point School District, director of bands for the Pecatonica School System and the Pearl City School System (all in northern Illinois), Director of Jazz Studies at Highland Community College and as Sports Band Director at the University of Arizona. He also serves locally as President of the National Trails Conference and Chairman of the Regional Office of Education Curriculum Cooperative.

 
 

Scott Barr

 

Scott Barr graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1994 with a degree in Electrical Industrial Technology. After graduation, he was self-employed in Effingham, IL as an electrical contractor. Then, he briefly moved to General Electric as a maintenance mechanic.

Currently employed with Sandschafer Electric as a project manager for 14 years, he has achieved journeyman electrician status as recognized by the US Department of Labor and is a member of Associated Builders and Contractors as well as Independent Electrical Contractors.

 
 

Mike Wente

 

Mike Wente has been involved in the CTEC program from its inception. As President and General Manager of Wente Plumbing and Fire Protection, he brings nearly 40 years of experience in the plumbing, piping and fire sprinkler industry to CTEC.

He is President of the Lake Sara Area Water Coop, President of Holland Regional Water Corporation, recently was President of the Illinois Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors and is / has been involved in numerous other community activities and organizations.

Mike is a graduate of the University of Illinois. He and wife Patricia are the parents of three boys: Todd, Kyle and Jonathan.

 
 

Diana Grinestaff – CTEC Secretary

 

Diana has just started her 21st year as counselor at Teutopolis High School. Diana is a member of the Illinois Education Association, National Education Association, Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling and the Illinois ACT State Organization.

She resides in Effingham with her husband, who is also in the education field. She has two children, both of whom are currently in college. Her son is a senior at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and her daughter is a graduate student at Northwestern University in Chicago.

 
 

Don Althoff

 

Don Althoff is serving his second term on the City Council. Before that, Don was on the Effingham County Board for 9 years.

Brian Milleville and Don realized there was a need in the construction trade community after talking to contractors. The contractors expressed their concerns regarding the existing work force nearing retirement age and that not many younger people were getting involved to replace them. Together, with the contractors in our area, they came up with a plan to begin training high school students the "Construction Trades".

 
 

Shane Frederking

 

Shane Frederking is the owner of Frederking Construction Company in Altamont, IL. He graduated from Altamont High School in 1993 and the 2-year Building Trades Program at OKAW Area Vocational Center in Vandalia, IL. He attended Lake Land College, graduating with degrees in the Architectural Construction Technology and Small Business Management Programs.

Shane is currently a member of the Effingham Area Home Builder's Association, Effingham Sportsman's Club, Effingham County EMA Assessment Team and Immanuel Lutheran Church.

 
 

Jason Fox

 

Jason Fox is currently the Principal at EHS.
